Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/27/2010

Number: 1

To observe monarchs I sat directly between the herb garden and Warren Wilson Road. Unfortunately, as I sat at 8:00 in the morning air was intermittently windy. In my hour watching I only saw one monarch. It fluttered by about 30 yards away at about 10 feet high. I jogged to get closer, as it was flying quickly in a gust of wind. It headed north towards the willow tree by the access road behind Morse. My observation only lasted several minutes as the Monarch continued flying rapidly. (09/27/10) I was watching for 1 hour.
