Museum educator Dana Zebrowski reports a hummingbird stopping by a rose-of-sharon tree in her backyard on this date. It was hovering a short while as if to check out blossoms [there were none], then left.
There was a hummingbird feeder in position in the front of the house but it could not been seen from the back; it may have caused the bird to stop and scope the whole yard.
