Virginia Living Museum AKA Monarch Waystation #299 reports a first instar monarch caterpillar was found after a search of milkweed in our Children's Learning Garden & elsewhere on the grounds. This is the youngest [we hope the last!] caterpillar we are rearing for display. As they mature we tag & release the butterflies in a public tagging demonstration every afternoon we have butterflies available.
