Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/06/2010

Number: 1

Saw a couple last week - but this week they are definitly increasing in numbers -- all their host plants are loaded (milkweed, passion vine, etc) the Salt Bush is starting to bloom along the panhandle and that's another good sign. Danner Dragonflies have been streaming this past week and still lots .. but a high number are dying??? not sure if this is the norm with their lifecycles .. alot of mating going on also. have large numbers of butterflies with the main ones being --Long-tail Skippers, Cloudless Sulphers, Gulf Fritillary, Swallowtails -- Pipevine, Eastern Black, Palamedes, and others .
Always great to see. My observation time: I was watching for several hours in morning and evening each day.
