I have 2 monarch butterflies fluttering around the yard. Seven of my chrysalis eclosed over the weekend and those monarch's flew off pretty quick. I have 16 chrysalis and 4 caterpillars, two of them forming chrysalis as I write this! When the caterpillars get within a day or two before forming chrysalis, I put them in a butterfly cage with lots of milkweed. They eat and them crawl to the top of the cage and form their chrysalis. then I take the chrysalis and hang them along the side netting of the cage and when they eclose I let them go.
