In early afternoon, a hummingbird made a quick pass at a hanging hook that usually holds a hummingbird feeder by my window. I'd just taken the feeder down the day before because I hadn't seen any hummers for a week. I quickly refilled and replaced the feeder, but I didn't observe the hummingbird returning.
