Since the heavy rain on the 6th of October I have not seen my milkweed visited by a monarch, but while driving up Telegraph Road between the College and Saticoy over the last three days I have counted roughly 4 butterflies each day. While at the local native nursery in mid-town they mentioned they are still seeing Monarchs. I am happy to report that current caterpillar count in 1 midsize, 1 baby, and 4 itty bitty caterpillars. Still over 30 eggs yet to hatch. Current cocoon count is 6 (just discovered a new one) and one rescue. The rain knocked it off the pot it attached itself too and I have it hanging from a branch now. My observation time: I was watching for ___ hours and ___ minutes.
