We watched off/on mornings and afternoons in Navarre, Florida.
Butterflies by the hundreds filled palm trees and shrubs. When the bushes or trees were shaken, they would make a beautiful sight as hundreds flew together. They would return within a minute or two and rest again. Truly an awesome sight! We observed from Oct 1 - Oct 6, 2010. My observation time: I was watching for _1__ hours and _0__ minutes.
Editor’s Note: We are estimating a minimum of 200 monarchs based on observer’s estimate of “hundreds.”
