Saw a Monarch flying overhead, heading towards the South; about 12:30 pm. Unusually warm temperatures, sunny, calm day. Strong flyer.
Approx. 1:30 pm, saw a Monarch in the garden, taking nectar from a Mexican Sunflower. Noticed that there was a shiny substance on the upper side of the body; hindwings were slightly curled; a female; no problem flying. Stayed around the garden area. My observation time: I was watching for _3_ hours and _30__ minutes.
