Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/10/2010

Number: 1

Female Monarch butterfly observed in garden, taking nectar from Mexican Sunflowers. Likely the same one as sighted the previous day, as it had an unusual wet or oily looking spot on upper side between wings, and hind wings were slightly curled. No problem flying. Observed for about 20 minutes in the garden area; seen mainly at the flowers, with occasional flights to nearby shrubs to rest, then returned to flowers.
When checking later in the afternoon and evening, no sign of the Monarch in the area.
Local weather was unusually warm, temp. in the mid 80s; sunny. My observation time: I was watching for _2__ hours and ___ minutes.
