The stream of monarchs along the Gulf coast is just beginning to show here. Out sightings so far today coming across Lavaca Bay from Point Comfort to Port Lavaca:
11:00 to 11:20 6 monarchs in 20 minutes short trip across the Lavaca Bay Causeway and the east side of the peninsula at north end
12:48 to 1:46 27 monarchs in 58 minutes across the causeway and both sides of the peninsula ... slowly this time, most were flybys. Because we had taken the nets out, Altus finally got out and finger netted one off a sunflower just before we returned.
49 dF early am, 70 at 11:00, clear, calm from NW, under large HI, could get to 84 today.
