Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/11/2010

Number: 1

Observed Monarchs in the garden all day. Monarchs were coming in steadily with some leaving and flying south earlier this afternoon. Winds became more gusty from SSW. At 1730, I counted more than 3 dozen Monarchs, some nectaring, and some already roosting on trees surrounding and in my yard. Showers are possible again tonight. A friend from Tulsa observed a dozen Monarchs in her yard today. I wish there was a better network/awareness in this area to observe and report Monarchs. My observation time: I was watching for ___ hours and ___ minutes.
