Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/11/2010

Number: 1

Greetings again from Virginia's lovely Eastern Shore! While visiting Assateague Island yesterday, I saw random monarchs on the goldenrod near the beach and on the wildlife loop trail. Obviously these were part of the mass group that has been hanging around the dunes this weekend. According to the rangers I spoke with, Saturday was an awesome day...and in reading the report from Denise, it certainly was! Wish I had been there, but was on the Chesapeake Bay in our boat where we saw a few on a little island out there! (posted earlier on Saturday). Also heard from another source of sightings all along the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel on Saturday! My observation time: I was watching for ___ hours and ___ minutes.
