My name is Rebecca Schnitzer, and I teach a homeschool Spanish class. My students are between the ages of 4 and 6, and there are six of them in my class. We were using Eric Carle's book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" in Spanish to study the days of the week, fruits, and numbers, when I found out about this program. I thought that it was a great cultural experience that my students could participate in, and the kids have loved it so far, and they cannot wait to get a butterfly and a message back from Mexico.


Me llamo Rebecca Schnitzer, y soy enseño una clase de español para niños que no van a la escuela, pero que se quedan en casa y aprenden de sus padres. Mis estudiantes tienen 4 a 6 años de edad, y hay seis de ellos en mi clase. Leíamos el libro “La oruga muy hambrienta” por Eric Carle para estudiar los días de la semana, las frutas, y los números, cuando encontré este programa. Pensé que sería una experiencia cultural y única, y quise darles a mis estudiantes la oportunidad de participar. ¡Mis estudiantes están muy entusiasmados y no pueden esperar el regreso de la mariposa y la carta de los estudiantes en México!
