Since the 10th, we have seen many butterflies flying at the beach in a southward direction. As we sit on the beach many have flown by us as if on a highway heading south. We have also discovered some who have not survived the journey-one monarch and one Red-Spotted Purple. They seem to travel in pairs though not sure. We have seen many come by and assume they are heading for Mexico. My observation time: I was watching for 11 hours.
