Signs of Fall

Date: 10/13/2010

Number: 1

Today was our first day observing signs of fall. Most of us have noticed that leaves have changed. Some trees are bare. The leaves on the smaller trees had changed more colors than on the larger trees. The colors were orange, yellow, red, brown and green. Most of the leaves on the ground were just brown. They looked like they had bite holes. Some leaves were red faded into yellow with brown spots. Something else we noticed is that it is getting colder each day. The temperature is dropping. The ground was hardening. There was frost on the ground. The water in our pond is slowing down. We saw a fat squirrel, probably stocking up. There are lots of acorns on the ground. The birds were migrating west and the flowers were drooping. It was quiet and breezy. A bee landed and the bees are slowing down.
