I spotted two monarchs in different parts of town on the afternoon of October 12! That's late for Waterloo, Iowa. They were flying south and in search of food.

The monarch chrysalis on the outside of my garage door is dark (finally) and about too hatch. My observation time: I was watching for 2 hours and 0 minutes.
