We released a female monarch that emerged last evening (3 OCT 2010) from a chrysalis we found when we pulled tomato plants from the garden two weeks ago. she positioned herself to get full sun on the fir branch where she was placed and then about 1030 hrs she departed. We have seen no other monarchs since one emerged 15 AUG from a group of seven larvae on our small milkweed patch (9 plants)
