Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/06/2010

Number: 1

While sitting in the AC Int'l airport waiting for a flight out between 12:45 and 1:45 we sat by a window looking out over the runway and counted 120 monarchs moving from North to South approximately 10-12 feet away from the building, leading me to believe this might be another fairly large wave coming through. Looking out further away from the building, we did note (but did not count) others moving along the same path. Many of those close to the building were obviously fatigued and stopped to rest on the plane ramp and building ledges nearby, and the several actually dropped down to the ground; one didn't move for quite some time. My observation time: I was watching for _1__ hours and ___ minutes.
