I work at Gatewood Elementary School in Southern WV. I released 2 monarchs on Monday Oct. 11, 2010, 1 female and 1 male. The first grade teacher at the school still has one in the chrysalis stage. It went in on Friday, Oct. 8th. We have released about 25 monarchs this year as a part of our butterfly study! We have had a great year for Monarchs.
