Altus and I had a great morning on the peninsula to the north end of the Lavaca Bay Causeway ... 11:00-11:50 did a count from the van of 153 coming from ENE to WSW past our spot on the east side of the peninsula ... 153 passing by in 50 minutes of counting. Then we went to west side and did a slow driving count of those nectaring on goldenrod ... got to 125 in 20 minutes and there were so many we gave up because it was so confusing with so many!

We went back at 4:00 and there were still as many on
goldenrod and sunflowers, Altus netted (and I tagged)
fifty and sent them on to Mexico.
Our observation time was 4 hours.
