The day we planted the soil was moist from recent rains, but we still had difficulty digging. We noticed an abundance of earthworms and other insects. The weather was cool, sunny, and slightly breezy. We planted six control tulips and experimented on 19 tulips. Each student was given a tulip bulb to plan an experiment around. Examples of our experiments include the effect of watering with sugar water, Lemon juice, apple juice, Fruit punch, Propel, milk, liquid fertilizer. We are waiting for the first frost so that we may mulch our tulips. We are excited to report the results of our experiment.
