Monarch Adult Sighted

My Number One Rule during monarch migration is "always check the lantana". The week before, this had not paid off for me, but I couldn't believe I'd seen the last monarch of the season already, so I persisted (I'd also figured correctly that some got 'hung up' by the cold, rainy weather we'd had a week earlier, and that we'd have a least one more 'burst' of migrants). So I was overjoyed with my finding four male monarchs nectaring the beautiful orange lantana at the Wardman Park Marriott Wednesday. They were being very territorial and spent a lot of time in the air, chasing and patrolling. I did manage some nice photos of one on the flowers, the best of which I will include. My observation time: I was watching for 20 minutes.
