This is my first posting. We have been in Surf City for 8 yrs and this is the first time I have noticed so many Monarch butterflys. I was sitting on my deck and watched them fly over, sometimes in groups of fours. This is one of the most beautiful things I have seen. I was mesmerized. In the 15 to 20 minutes that I was watching I must have seen 300 - 400 butterflys fly over. Next time I observe I will time and keep a more specific count.
