Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/22/2010

Number: 1

Yesterday two cocoons produced butterflies, the day before another was born but when I found him he was on his back and wings did not open. Must have slipped and fell (I am very sad and doing what I can to help him along). Today two more butterflies were born and I still have two more cocoons in the yard. One looks like it will open tomorrow. The milkweed has one medium caterpillar and two tiny baby ones. There are still some eggs, but they have been there a while and doubt they will hatch. Did see three butterflies, not from my yard today, but I think they were recently born and they had no interest in the milkweed. My observation time: I was watching for ___ hours and ___ minutes.
