I was surprised and delighted to see a female monarch on our tithonia torch as late as Oct. 20th. I tagged her and sent her on her way. We are having cold nights in the upper 30's with warm days in the 70's and 80's. Our tithonia torch is very healthy and full of blooms and we still have some zinnias in bloom. They seem to prefer the tithonia torch however. I have tagged three females in October making my total 22 tagged monarchs since September 12th. My observation time: I was watching for ___ hours and _45__ minutes.
