Today I observed 6 female monarchs in the garden in front of my house. The were sipping nectar and laying eggs. The plants they were on were asclepias cursivica, Mexican Hat, zinnias and sunflowers. I have sent photos to Elizabeth's email. temperature, 27 degrees C. sunny day.
Overall the nectar bearing vegetation is quite scarce. We had a light freeze two weeks ago and most flowers have dried out. Last night i ran water in the garden to have nice mud puddles today. My observation time: I was watching for 0_ hours and _45__ minutes.
