No monarchs sighted for a week until early this afternoon. Checking the garden at 12:45 p.m., I discovered a female monarch - fresh colors, and untattered - resting on a blue delphinium flower which had survived Saturday's frost. Very soon she circled a couple of times and landed on a phlox plant that had gone to seed. Returning to the garden ca. 1:30 I found her a few feet away, resting on a network of dried grass stems. It's partly sunny today, hi 65°. My observation time: I was watching for _0__ hours and 40___ minutes.
