We are having a very warm day for late October -- 88 degrees when I checked at 4 p.m. Also, extremely windy, approaching 25-30 mph out of the south. We sighted some monarchs heading into a wet weather creek bed covered with arching trees. We watched for about 5 minutes and counted 11 monarchs. We've had monarchs roost here in the past in fairly large numbers, waiting for the heat and winds to subside. My observation time: I was watching for _0__ hours and 5___ minutes.
