Yesterday afternoon, the kindergarten students at Lake Forest Country Day School planted 30 tulip bulbs. It was a beautiful day, with sunny skies and a temperature of about 70 degrees. We observed many worms in the soil as we planted. We used small shovels and rulers to measure the depth at 7 inches for each tulip. We used compost dirt as well as bone meal to cover the tulip bulbs. We marked each tulip with a craft stick to identify where they were planted.
