The tulips arrived ready for planting the first week in October and the seventh graders used the criteria in the study to scout out a suitable site for the planting. They worked together to dig up and prepared a large circular bed for our Journey North tulips. Then over a two day period, the kindergartners and fourth graders honed their measuring and planting skill by planting over 100 tulip bulbs in this bed. It was very exciting. We had ordered a 250 bulbs, so the rest were planted in areas that did not meet the criteria for the study, but due to proximity to the building and sidewalks, may represent a micro-climate that we can compare with the study group. We can hardly wait for spring!
