Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/29/2010

Number: 1

Surprised to see a single female monarch on a butterfly plant in my front yard today at 12:40 pm. Very late in the season. I released the last tagged one I raised this year on 9/29 and thought that was getting late. It was about 50 degrees F in the shade. Out in the sun, warm enough for her to flex her wings and fly away to the South. We have had bad winds the past few days from the West & South, but today just a little breezy from the North. Hope it will help her on her way. Wished her well, but she has a long way to go. My observation time: I was watching for ___ hours and ___ minutes.
