Signs of Fall

Date: 11/01/2010

Number: 1

We have had real changes in our weather from week to week, with fluctuating temperatures. Last week our warm weather changed dramatically to cooler weather. We had heavy rain early Saturday morning. This rain, coupled with rain the week before has brought out native grass. My own acre in nearby Wildomar was completely dirt ten days ago and is now green with wild grass. At school we have even observed moss growing under the bushes next to our classroom, a rare occurance in Southern California. Leaves continue to turn red on some trees, yellow or brown on others. More leaves are dropping. I saw a flock of birds flying in a vee formation yesterday. I'm not sure if they were geese or not. Currently it is 83 degrees with highs in the low 90's predicted for tomorrow and Wednesday. Our lows at night drop to the low 50's. Saturday it is cooling off yet again, with a high of 74 predicted and a low of 48 degrees. It is absolutely beautiful.
