Today the temperature was about 39 degrees, sunny but slightly windy and we had a hard frost last night. Today we planted our tulip bulbs. This year Mrs. Ference's class and Mrs Swentzel's third grade students of Byram Lakes School in Byram (Stanhope) are trying another experiment with our bulbs to try and keep the deer away. We had some success last year and this year we are trying a similuar experiment using narcissus bulbs. The ground temperatures at the time of planting were: on the sunny side it was 56 degrees F and in the shaded part areas it was 42 degrees F.
