Signs of Fall

Date: 11/03/2010

Number: 1

We went out at 9:15 am. The temperature was colder than usual. We could see our breath like smoke. It looked like Jack Frost passed by there was so much frost. It was on the leaves, rocks and trees. There was a frozen bee on the ground. Today was our first day seeing ice on our mini human made pond. It was half frozen. The pond was so frozen on the top that it felt like Antarctica. The ice was so thin that we broke it with our pinkies, acorns, sticks and rocks. The pond temperature was colder than the air. Leaf after leaf was falling, instantly and constantly. It seemed like a snowstorm of leaves. The ground was harder than a rock. When we got inside, our cheeks were rosy and our noses were the color of Santa's coat. By 10:30 the frost disappeared and it looked like a regular fall day. We wonder when the first snow will be.
