I planted my tulips this sunny afternoon in Charlotte, Vermont. I will have two gardens this year in Vermont and will compare the pace of spring's arrival in two places: the Champlain Valley (Charlotte, VT) and my home site that's about 50 miles south of Charlotte but is at a higher elevation (1,100 feet elevation in Norwich, VT). Which will matter more, latitude or elevation?
