I've already told you about the very mean male hummingbird in our back yard that guards HIS feeder. Well, now he has something else to contend with. For the last few days we have had two praying mantis' in the back yard. One green, the other brown and getting ready to molt. This is the first time in the three years we have lived here we have seen them. Well the brown one has more or less taken up residence on the feeder. Mr. Grumpy and his other cronies won't mess with him. He's sitting there fighting off about six hummingbirds. I guess they know he'll bite them. I sat out there for half an hour laughing.
