Monarch Adult Sighted

Number: 1

On October 15th, I had the opportunity to visit family in Cabimas, Venezuela. I found a milkweed plant grove. I was so excited as I live in Aurora,Colorado and I have raised several Monarchs from my front yard milkweeds. Anyway, along with several nieces and nephews, we placed worms in empty jars. We were able to watch them turn into chrysalis but I left on the 1st of the November. As we returned home, we received a phone call letting us know that two butterflies came forth! I am so excited that I was able to share this special transformation in a land so far away. I of course am wondering if these S. American Monarch's migrate? All and all now my family has a special love for the milkweed plant! My hope is that the plant will be left to grow and become a key habitat for the monarch!
