Twenty six second grade students in Mrs. Hetland & Mrs. Forsberg's class at Meadowbrook Elementary School in Hopkins School District 270 in Golden Valley, MN planted 30 pink Emperor tulips today. The ground temperature was 45 degrees in the garden and the air temperature was slightly above 45 degrees. The sky was blue, but it was windy. The bulbs are planted 7 inches in the ground and about 4 inches apart. The garden sits above ground and is about 12 inches deep. The border of the garden that encases the soil is made of wood. The garden is in an open court yard, but appropriately away from the building.
