Tulips PLANTED

Date: 11/05/2010

Number: 1

On Friday, October 5, 2010, the fifth graders in Mrs. Sauer-Jones' class planted their official Journey North Test Garden. They planted two types of tulips. First the students planted their official Journey North Red Emperor tulips 7 inches deep and four inches apart. Then they planted optional experimental tulips which were multi-colored Emperor tulips. They could plant them any way they wanted. The weather was chilly with temperatures in the 40's. We wore coats and garden gloves. We found grubs and earthworms in the soil. We hope our tulips bloom in the spring. Written by Katrina Lassiter and Gabriel Ryan with help from Mrs. Buscher, our greenhouse lab teacher
