Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 11/11/2010

Number: 1

Seeing very few Monarchs flying around town. Maybe one or two a day. Did have one VERY VERY interested in my milkweed and after her visit I looked at some of the leaves she was very interested in and discovered eggs =).

Currently have two chrysalis in the yard. One isn't looking so great . . . think the heat had something to do with it. Also lost a caterpillar looking to make a chrysalis due to heat (I assume . . did not look diseased). Found him dead on the grass plant that they seem to like to make a chrysalis on (very sad).

Currently have six baby caterpillars on the milkweed (or so we see).

This all over the course of a week. My observation time: I was watching for ___ hours and ___ minutes.
