Still seeing Monarchs in my garden. I'm not sure if they are from the caterpillars that were on my butterfy weeds. Saw one "roosting" on my pool screen this morning. Upon further inspection I noticed that it was missing 3/4 of it's right wing. It must have been too exhausted to fly to a proper roost. I decided to watch it until it warmed up enough to fly (it was in the low 50's at 6:00 a.m.). After a couple of minutes a mockingbird noticed it and to my horror swooped down and grabbed it! I hope it makes the bird so sick it will never harm another one! My observation time: I was watching for ___ hours and ___ minutes.
