Tulips PLANTED

Date: 10/22/2010

Number: 1

We planted 54 of the tulip bulbs in one ideal site at 2:30 in the afternoon. Storms were predicted and the normal high temperature would have been in the mid 50s. We found a patch of afternoon that was amazingly sunny and into the 60s. Our soil is aminly clay so we broke it up and mixed in humus and bone meal. Three of the remaining bulbs were planted in the sunniest corner of our inner court yard; the last three went into the shadiest portion. Lots of crows were watching, but we saw no robins.
