The monarch had half its wings stuck to the surface of Raritan Bay east of the mouth of Cheesequake Creek. I found it alive and gave it a brief ride in my kayak while it flapped and dried it's wings in the sun. It then flew off as we were about to padle under the route 35 bridge. I hope it makes it to Mexico. My observation time was at 1:00 p.m. : I was watching for ___0 hours and __10_ minutes.
