We will continue to see monarchs migrating SW to Mexico across Lavaca Bay at the peninsula north end of the causeway for another couple of weeks, maybe even early December if it's warm, but the last large number may have been this past weekend (Nov 13-14-15th). Today there was a stong west wind blowing early in the morning and it was cold for the middle of the Texas coast! A west to northwest wind, 20-25 mph, clear, and only 59 dF by 10:00 am. Only a trickle of monarchs this morning and they were staying low out of wind! Altus managed to net ten by 1:00 (29 over the three days) when they would stop to nectar on goldenrod and sunflowers on the peninsula before going out across Lavaca Bay. We were watching for over 3 hours.
