Today we planted 100 red emperor tulip bulbs. Today was chilly, 51 degrees F, and the ground temperature was about 50 degrees F. Today it was partly cloudy with a 10 percent chance of rain. We planted the tulips 7 inches deep and 4 inches apart. The array we planted the tulips in was 25 rows with 4 tulips in each column. We made sure the flat part of the tulip was on the bottom so the roots could grow.
