Practice Report (Any Species)

Date: 11/19/2010

Number: 1

approx 9-am to 11-am:
mixed flock, approx a dozen blue-jays, 6 or 8 mockingbirds,
12 or 15 northern-robins; they all arrived within 10-mins of one another, but split up when they arrived, with the jays concentrating on live-oak acorns, the mockingbirds bugging in the grass, and the robins worm-hunting.
they did not use the rooftop-pools in mixed groups - they strayed within 6 to 8-ft of the other species, especially as the robins bathed and jays gobbled acorns from the roof, but no mixed bathing or even drinking - conspecifics only.
[2 robins, both males, are still here on Monday at noon.
their narrow dark caps are clearly visible when they come to drink + bathe.]
