Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 11/22/2010

Number: 1

Our little hummers are still here eating in the snow. We have about 2-3" of snow on the ground. What we have done, and it seems to be working for them, the feeder is on a shepherds hook and we have taken an out door security type light, put it into an outdoor socket, and put it on a large outdoor clamp and attached it to the pole. Then with ourdoor electrical cord, plugged it in and aimed it at the feeder. The temp is about 40 degrees and the hummers are coming in to eat like crazy. We left the light on all night and it is still one. We left the feeder outside all night also. Getting ready to put a plate or pie plate on top of the feeder to keep the snow off of it.
