We have 5 second grade classes. Our students planted one control garden and four other gardens in different locations around the school. It was a beautiful day for planting and the kids are very excited about the project. In addition to our regular plantings, we have several experimental plantings including bulbs planted upside-down, sideways, cut in half, planted with candy and other fun-filled ideas to test the predictions of our students. Each student will keep a journal which documents our planting and observations of when the tulips sprout and bloom. It was interesting to hear students' predictions of when the tulips will bloom, ranging from next week until a few months!
