Practice Report (Any Species)

Date: 11/21/2010

Number: 1

Nov. 21/10 first saw a flock of about 10 robins perched in one of the maple trees in my backyard. One at a time, they would fly to the ground and dig for worms/insects. I read on your site, that winter robins will eat various berries. I placed 2 heated dog dishes on my patio (sheltered on 2 sides)- almost daily I fill one with blueberries, strawberries and cut up apples - the other with water. Will these birds remain for the entire winter? I've been living in Mississauga for 20 years and this is the first I've seen robins this late in the year. It's amazing.
